It wasn't long ago that the flame-throwing Jacob Misiorowski was pitching in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Miz's excellent postseason appearance succeeded a regular season in which -- combined between Triple-A and MLB -- the young right-hander threw 129.1 innings -- the most in a single season during his four-year professional career.
Not only did Misiorowski reach a new level in terms of workload last season, but he also reached new heights in terms of high-stress appearances. From the All-Star Game to the postseason to highly-publicized matchups with Paul Skenes and Clayton Kershaw, Miz was constantly in the spotlight, which can cause a pitcher to reach back for a new gear and put even more stress on their arm.
Though Miz has largely avoided arm injuries throughout his career, it's not difficult to see why the Brewers might be concerned that a larger workload could lead to a shoulder or elbow injury for the young starter; Misiorowski's explosive delivery can make a fan's shoulder hurt just by watching it.
Taken together -- these facts that Miz pitched more last year than ever before, his electric arsenal of pitches could put wear on his arm, and how important he is to the future of Brewers baseball -- it makes sense that Milwaukee is taking things slow with the flame-thrower in Spring Training this year. Though Miz continues to throw bullpens and live at-bat sessions, the 23-year-old has yet to make his in-game debut this spring.
However, that is about to change. As revealed by Brewers beat writer Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on the social media platform X, Misiorowski will make his first in-game appearance of 2026 on Tuesday of this week, but it won't be against an MLB opponent.
Jacob Misiorowski makes his spring debut in front of fans on Tuesday, March 3 when the Brewers host Team Great Britain in a WBC tune-up game.

Jacob Misiorowski to make 2026 debut against Team Great Britain on March 3
During World Baseball Classic years, MLB teams in the midst of their Spring Trainings will often hold exhibition matchups with the international teams to allow the latter to see in-game action prior to the start of the WBC. The Brewers hosted Team Great Britain back in 2023 prior to the last edition of the WBC, and they will do so once again on Tuesday of this week.
While the game serves as a great opportunity for Great Britain to build up to the WBC, which will begin for them on Friday with a matchup against Team Mexico down in Houston, facing the electric right arm of Jacob Misiorowski likely wasn't what they had in mind. Great Britain has plenty of big-leaguers on their team, so it isn't as if Misiorowski will be blowing his fastball by a bunch of hitters who have never seen comparable velocity, but the Miz is a tough matchup for any hitter.
For Brewers fans, Tuesday's game will be the first opportunity to see the Miz since his incredible postseason performance back in October. With expectations set high by Misiorowski's finish to the 2026 season, kicking off the 2026 campaign on a strong note would be a huge boost for the young right-hander.
